Gemtek Conflict Free Statement
Gemtek follows and will continue to follow the Electronic
Industry Citizenship Coalition and the Global e-Sustainability
Initiative on Conflict Free compliance. The metals of gold
(Au), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W) and tin (Sn) used in
the industrial products may be from a variety of sources,
including what has been termed as a “conflict region”,
including but not limited to the Eastern region of the
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Illegal mining profits
may be fueling human rights atrocities in the Eastern Region
of the DRC. Gemtek therefore expects our suppliers to comply
with the Electronic Industry Code of Conduct (“EICC”) and
to only source materials from environmentally and socially
responsible suppliers. In support of this target, Gemtek
requires suppliers’ official declaration on metals not
being sourced from mines in conflict areas to ensure our
supply chain comply with the DRC Conflict-Free expectations.
