The Wireless Media Center system transmits audio and video signals from the WMTV-109AS TX unit to the WMTV-110AC RX unit, over IEEE802.11a WLAN, by encoding the signals according to MPEG standards.

The TX unit is embedded in a Video Source device (DVD, VCR, PVR, STB, dedicated Based Station or PC). The RX unit is embedded in a Video Display device (a standard television, flat screen television or video monitor).

Specifically, Gemtek WMTV-109AS supports up-to 2 SD streaming channels in the same time. You can have two WMTV-110AC devices for different Video Display devices, then they can have different streaming program source.

The IR function enables the user to control the DVD (or other video source) even when the TV and the DVD are not in the same room. The user can use the DVDs remote control unit by point the remote control at an IR receiver located at the RX unit. The IR signals are conveyed by WLAN to the TX unit.
